Wire Light LED Strand - 12 Warm White LEDs + Coin Cell Holder

Add sparkle to your project with this silver wire LED strand. Tiny 1,000 mcd warm white LEDs are bonded onto coated silver magnet wire and sealed with epoxy, creating flexible "fairy lights" that are far less visible than standard LEDs. The strand is waterproof — you can dunk it or use it outdoors (just protect the battery holder).

The strand includes 12 LEDs spaced approximately 5 cm (2″) apart across a 60 cm (2 ft) wire, with a 2× CR2032 coin cell holder and on/off switch at the end. Runs for about 8 hours continuously on two CR2032 cells.

Note: There is no series resistor installed on the strand. The coin cell's internal resistance limits LED current at 6 V. If using an external power supply, add a resistor in series: 20–220 Ω for 6 V, or 10–100 Ω for 4.5 V, to avoid burning out the LEDs. To solder to the magnet wire, scrape off the coating first.
Warning — Button Cell Battery Safety: Button cell batteries are hazardous (new or used). Keep away from children. They can cause severe or fatal injuries within 2 hours if swallowed or placed inside any part of the body.
